Nintendo DS vs Gameboy Advance?
I am planning on buying either a Nintendo DS or a Gameboy Advance but I am not sure which to get. Due to living in a foreign country I can not try them out before I get one (I have to buy off amazon.com). I want the GBA Game Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town (GBA games play on a NDS). So should I get a NDS or GBA? The Gameboy Advance is cheaper, but most of my friends have a Nintendo DS, so if I got a NDS I could play with them. And BTW, I already have Harvest Moon: Back to Nature (for PSone). Please answer if you want to. Thanks in advance.
As you said, the Nintendo DS (and the DS Lite) can play GBA games, but the GBA can't read DS (or DS Lite) games. The DS & DS Lite are backward-compatible. The DS & DS Lite cost more, yes, but it can play more games than the GBA. The GBA has one LCD screen while the DS systems have two.
Go with the DS, or the more cost-effective DS Lite. My kids have both of these personal systems: my 5-year-old has a GBA and my 9-year-old has the DS Lite (which she upgraded to from the GBA). The DS Lite comes with a stylus, and you can buy a system that already has a game included with it.
